Saint Peter UMC’s Fresh New Look
A Brand + Website Built for Clarity, Community, and Easy Updates
Saint Peter UMC has a rich story. Established in 1886, this congregation in the Huntsville and Madison, Alabama area has deep roots and a strong sense of identity. But their website was not reflecting that story at all.
When they reached out, their online presence felt dated and difficult to maintain. The site was visually flat, the content was hard to navigate, and many of the photos were scans from printed pictures, which made the church look older online than it truly is in real life.
They wanted something different. Something modern, cheerful, accessible, and strong enough to help welcome the next generation while still serving the members who already call Saint Peter home.
So we built them a complete refresh. A Logo + Branding Package paired with a Tithely Sites website setup that is clean, readable, and simple to update.
What Saint Peter UMC Needed
During our brainstorming session, a few priorities came through clearly:
High contrast and easy-to-read design, especially for older members who need larger text and clearer color separation
Brighter, cheerful colors, not dark or muted tones
A custom logo that includes “SP” as a recognizable icon
A modern website that could help attract younger people, while still feeling familiar and welcoming
A safer, simpler platform after previous website edits had caused major issues and even took the church offline
In other words: the goal was not just “a nicer website.” It was a website that felt trustworthy, readable, and manageable.
The Branding Refresh: Bold, Warm, and Confident
Logo Concept
Saint Peter UMC wanted their identity to be simple and recognizable, and they specifically asked that “SP” be part of the logo. We delivered a custom mark that can stand alone as an icon, work on social media, and carry across print materials, while still leaving room for “United Methodist Church” wording where needed.
The Website Setup: From Outdated to Modern in Tithely Sites
After the branding was established, we applied the new look across a fully refreshed website on Tithely Sites.
Before
An outdated layout that did not reflect the church’s energy or legacy
Photos that were often scanned from prints, lowering perceived quality
A structure that felt hard to navigate and difficult to keep current
Past experiences with site edits going wrong, creating stress and uncertainty
After
A clean, modern homepage with clear sections and readable spacing
Strong typography and high contrast design choices for accessibility
Updated photo usage, with guidance on submitting full-resolution images
A layout built to be easy to edit, so the church is not stuck relying on outside help for basic updates
We also planned the site intentionally around what matters to visitors first: who Saint Peter UMC is, what they believe, what’s happening this week, and how to connect.
Built for Real People, Not Just Good Design
One of our favorite parts of this project was how clearly the church’s heart came through. They wanted to honor the congregation they have while also building something that would help new families and younger people feel welcomed.
That is exactly what good church web design should do.
This website setup was created with digital stewardship in mind: a site that is stable, clear, and sustainable for the leaders maintaining it week to week.
And because Tithely Sites includes helpful training resources, we made sure the team had what they needed to feel confident moving forward, including walkthrough guidance and access to platform tutorials.
The Result: A Cohesive, Confident Online Presence
Now Saint Peter UMC has:
A cohesive logo and brand system they can use everywhere
A modern website that better reflects who they are today
A platform that is simpler to maintain and safer to update
A brighter, clearer, more welcoming digital front door for their community
If your church is still living with an old website, low-quality photos, or a look that does not match your mission, we would love to help you refresh it with clarity and care.
Many churches choose a brand and website refresh when they are ready to grow, simplify, and better serve their people online.
